Bloom Hair Band! - by Merdrey Chew

Hello!

How many ways can we use fabric? Div issued the DTs this challenge, which is to use the lovely Buzz and Bloom fabric in a non=paper project. Here's what I did!

First, I started off with two fabric items from the new collection, the Cord Patchwork: The George and the Denim Tokens of Affection: Express Yourself.

Cut the cord into a circle and sew a running stitch along the edges. When completed, gather them so it looks like the 'flower' below!

Next, combine the 'flower' with the denim token, add button and rubber band. TADAAAAAAA!

An alternative would be to use a pin instead of a rubber band!

Crazy for Denim and Cord! - by Ruby Bisson

When the design team were shown sneaks of the new Denim and Cord lines, my heart melted! I couldn't wait to get my hands on them. For this project we were to focus on these products on our project- with sewing and not as much paper. I decided to make a mini album...
Using blank pieces of chipboard and pieces of denim and cord that were larger than the chipboard, I stuck them on. Using the sewing machine, i sewed around the piece of chipboard, leaving about a 5mm fringe around the outside. I then went crazy and added paint, embellishments and photos! I bound them with small alligator clips and it was complete! It was fun, quick and easy!

Here is my project:

For this front cover I used Buzz and Bloom's The Mini Series:Babydoll Alphas and The Mini Series:Vette Alphas. For the background I used some of the Denim Patchwork: Flora pieces and painted white and blue over the top. I also used a cloud from the Chipboard On Cloud Nine pack and painted it blue.

For this double page I used the Cord Patchwork:Flora in both magenta and avocado. I also used some Chipboard pieces from the Arboretum:The S Vine pack and painted them white. I then covered some  of the gaps in with beads and other small pieces.

 
For this double page I used a piece of Cord from the Patchwork:Dotti pack and the Patchwork:Flora pack.

  

And finally for the back cover! I used a piece of Cord from the Patchwork:Flora pack. I also used some pieces from the Cord pack of Borderline: Heart Throb in the airforce colour.

I hope you enjoyed this project! This is my last ever post for Buzz and Bloom so I just wanted to say a massive thankyou to you readers, the other DT members and Helene and Div for this opportunity- I have loved working with the Buzz and Bloom products this year!

My BNB Cellphone Case - by Cookie Aguilar

I don't have a sewing machine but i will be very happy to have one in the future.  I want to learn how to sew all sorts of mini projects using gorgeous fabrics. 
For this project, I have decided to create a case for my cellphone using BNB fabrics.  I made it without any machine (whew!).
Here it is...

I used DEN: Patchwork: Yankie-Doodle as the base of my project.

I sew them together then when the body was done, I placed COR: Love and Kisses - Azure and embellished the heart with blings.
Here are some close up pics...

This is so easy to make.  Just perfect as personalized present this Christmas or any occassion.
You should try making these at home using the wide variety of Buzz and Bloom Fabrics.

I love sewing on my scrapbooks, but I also adore sewing clothes, bags and quilts too!
This project is a gift for my mother ( I hope she won't be spying here before christmas...), so the embroidery hoop is a reminder of her crattiness, her creativity, and the fabric is for her love to quilting and sewing. (can you guess who I got that from? :) )

The main fabric is a white cotton scrap piece.
I transfered a quote: "If you love someone, put their name in a circle; because hearts can be broken, but circles never end" this way: 1. print it backwards on a transparency 2. apply medium gel on the fabric and on the text 3. Put the text on the fabric and press with your fingers, as you do it for a rub-on 4. remove the transparency and the text should be on your fabric 5. let it dry.

I used some light glimmery pink paint spray to color the white fabric, which brought a distressed look to the text part too.
Than I sewed the other fabric pieces over with my sewing machine. I mostly chose pink Cord :: Patchwork: The George
The flowers were machine stitched too, and I added the buttons afterwards.

To finish, I embossed the alphabet chipboards in white and sticked them on the fabric with glue.

I also wanted to add pictures of the family, so I cut some index pictures and sticked them round the edge.

Wheat Bag Heat Pack - by Nina Granzien

Hiya Everyone ...

thanks for taking the time to stop by the Buzz and Bloom blog ... where creativity abounds and there is plenty of inspiration to be found! 

For this project, we were given the critera of having to use the amazing Buzz and Bloom Cord and/or Denim products ... but there was a catch ... the project had to be sewn. 

OK, admittadly, at first I was a little daunted, because, those who know me well, know that I am hopeless at sewing!!  I have no trouble getting my sewing machine to navigate itself in an uneven line around patterned paper on my layouts, but to actually "sew" with material and create a project that needs to resemble some form of tidyness and formation, well, I must declare, I had to call upon my sweet mother-in-law for some much needed assistace. I knew exactly what I wanted to create, I just needed guidance to be able to put it together. 

So, for this particular project, using the guiding hand and instruction of my dear MIL, as well as Buzz and Bloom's  Cord Patchwork Dotti in the colour Magenta and Cord Patchwork The George in the colour Airforce,  I have created a Wheat Bag Heat Pack. 

 

I have sewn 6 of the cord patchwork pieces together, 3 co-ordinating Patchwork The George pieces for the front of the wheat bag, and 3 co-ordinating Patchwork Dotti pieces for the back.  I have filled the bag with organic wheat.

To finish off the project, I have added a Denim Blame It On The Sunshine flower in emerald and a crocheted flower centre to the bottom right hand corner on the front of the wheat bag ... and 2 Cord Grand Flourishes in the colour avocado to the back of the wheat bag.

   
 
These wheat bags make wonderful gifts, and with christmas approaching rapidly, why not create some yourself,using the beautiful soft cord patchwork fabrics from Buzz and Bloom .... Take it from me, for one like myself, who usually has trouble sewing, these wheat bags are really easy to make and take very little time to construct.

December Project - Sewing

Here we are! This is the last design team project for 2009!

The design team was challeneged to make a project with our fabulous denim and cord products. The catch was it had to put together with stiches! This challenge really got the girls thinking and we love the results!

Lists - by Lisa Balm

Having injured my foot, and being rendered immobile, I have had to heavily rely on my husband and sons to help me around the house! So when Div gave us this assignment, it was a bit of a no-brainer! I am already having to leave to-do lists around for the boys.

I found a small piece of chipboard, and altered it with patterned paper and inked the edges. The I added some lined stationary which I prettied-up with some stamped flowers, and cipped them on to the board with a little clip and a ribbon. Then I painted the small flowers from with acrylic paint and then added some rhinestones to the centers of the flowers for a bit of bling. I also painted the letters from the CB Up The Garden Path: Multi PackCB That 70s Alphabet, and glued on a house from the ACR Room With A View: Ruby pack. 

Now it is up on the fridge and I add things for the boys to do around here! Not a bad deal hey?

When making your scrapbook page, how often do you make them interactive? By interactive, it means there is a certain component in your layout that can be moved, manipulated or touched to be able to take on another form.

If you are ready for that kind of fun, here are some Buzz and Bloom chipboards that I used to show you exactly that:

I used the CB Arboretum: Retro Vine - Small bare, to accent and anchor the upper portion of my layout:

 
 For punch, I used the CB: ABC Vette Alphabet - Large and painted it with varying colors. Since this is the focal point of my layout, I went ahead and used it loud and proud.

Here's the fun stuff: interactive! I did an accordion pullout revealing several of my photos and a simple journaling:

 

There you have it. Remember that the latest alphabet released by Buzz and Bloom are just the perfect marquee for all your carfty projects. The letters are just perfect in size and are very versatile. Grab some today!

Top 5 Most Important Reminders - by Merdrey Chew

Hello!

As I thought about lists, I wanted something more than just resolutions, mainly because I almost never really fulfill them! =) So when Div gave us this challenge, I decided to come up with a list of reminders for myself... this is what I came up with!

This hanging mobile measures about 6 x 8 inches. I used CB: Vette Alphabet  for the word 'top' and the CB: The Mini Series: Pop Art for the numbers! Both are first colored with a black marker and stickled with distressed black stickles to create some dimension!

I also broke a piece of my all time favorite ACR: Beaded Curtain in dayglo orange to add the bright spark!

I think I will be hanging this somewhere very prominent! Hope you have a chance to do up your little list of what's important too =)

5 Things We Love Doing Together - by Cookie Aguilar

I love making lists... like planning lists, list of schedules, lists of things to buy in the grocery, I can go on...  It's simply a part of my life- to make things a little simpler I guess. 
For this page, I have decided to create a list of things my son and I love doing together.  Actually, there are more.. but here are our top faves.

I just love recalling all our fun moments.  I wish even if my son will be all grown up, I hope there will be a lot more to be added on my list.  I just love spending time with him.
