Hi guys!! Hope you all had a fabulous weekend with family and friends.
I love using the amazing cord and denim products here at Buzz and Bloom.
I was so excited when they were released, as I love sewing, and playing around with fabrics.
I'll admit I had lots of ideas for this one, one big project, which I still have in the planning stages (hopefully I'll be able to share that with you guys soon)
But what I went with was something cute, quick, and easy, that you could knock up yourself one evening in front of the tv, or an afternoon in the craft room.
So I created a little sewing needle and pin holder bird.
All I did was pin my pattern pieces onto to cord fabric, and cut out the shapes. I chose to hand sew it together, but you can of course use the machine. (I was out of needles)
Sewing the flower onto the body first (as the wing) then leave a little gap at the end, and stuff with polyester filling, and then sew to finish it up.
You now have a sweet little bird friend, to sit by the sewing machine, to hold all of those stray pins.
The cord gives the finished piece such a soft texture, and the print of the fabric is cute.
I hope you guys are inspired to try out this cord fabric, While it is of course awesome to add to layouts, and card making, its also perfect for any other projects you can think of, as demonstrated by all the other girls here on the blog.
Happy sewing, and have fun :)
