Hi there! Today I am going to share a layout I created using some of Buzz and Bloom's new chipboard pieces. When I saw these new "Catwalk" girls, I knew I wanted do something fashion related and that the "Thrift Shop" line from October Afternoon would go perfectly. One of my favorite stores to shop at, when I can afford it, is Anthropologie. I love the somewhat vintage vibe their clothes have as well as the unique styles and awesome color combinations. The store displays alone are worth the trip.
Here I used one of the larger "Catwalk" girls, CB Linda, who almost takes up the length of the page at 11.5 inches tall. I covered her with a piece of an old sewing pattern by applying a thin layer of Mod Podge, laying the pattern over top and then using a file to sand off the excess pattern and smooth the edges. I love that she is large enough to be the focal point on the layout, but the sewing pattern is subtle enough that she doesn't overwhelm the page.
To keep with the fashion and sewing theme I had going here, I used some of the new CB Buttons covered with patterned paper and then stitched down. I was missing an "o" for my title, so I used one of the buttons to replace the missing letter. The title is a mix of two fonts, CB Shelby Alphabet - lowercase painted yellow and topped with Glossy Accents and CB Vette Alphabet - lowercase painted red and topped with Glossy Accents. I love the look of mixing fonts for a title. It adds more visual interest.
