Yay! My first post on the Buzz and Bloom blog!
So February is the month of love and instead of doing a traditional love layout about the people I love I chose to memorialize something that I love, and that is Diet Coke. I love it so much I guess you could say I am addicted. I have to have at least one every day. I just love the fuzzy taste of a cold cola!
I wanted this layout to have a sort of all-American feel with the colors, since there isn't much more that says American than Coca-Cola, so I stuck to red white and blue with a few pops of yellow. One thing that totally says all-American to me is denim. So I took one of the sheets of DEN Patchwork - Dotti Indigo and die cut a butterfly from it and attached it with a little fabric glue.
For the title, I used some chipboard letters from CB Vette Alphabet - Lower Case that I painted with some Making Memories acrylic paint in Daiquiri. Once the paint was dry, I topped the pieces with a thick layer of Glossy Accents to give it a shiny and almost acrylic looking finish. This is a look I love and the lighter blue letters really pop against that darker blue background.
These chipboard alphabets can really take a lot of product put on them. Sometimes chipboard will get a little warped from too much being done to them but these hold their shape beautifully!
I finished the layout with a handstiched border and now my love for Diet Coke will live on. Thanks for letting me share!
