Buzz and Bloom

Color Combo - 1st Trial Day - by Cookie Aguilar

I love color combination challenges, especially in creating my scrapbook pages.  I enjoy the process of gathering scrapbook materials related to the colors being set and then choosing the right amount of embellishments and papers to use on a page.  Oftentimes, you'll have a chance of using old stuff together with the new.

For this page... this is Harvey, right after his first school trial late last year.  He was so excited and had so much fun seeing his classmates for the first time.  And I'm truly proud of him wanting to go to school.  I really hope that he will enjoy it as much as he enjoyed schooling back in the Philippines.

I was able to incorporate lots of my favorite Buzz and Bloom products on my page and they all work so well together.  I was able to use the ACR On Cloud Nine (Fluoro Green), CB Shelby Alphabet - Countdown, CB Shelby Alphabet - Lower Case, CB That 70's Alphabet and FAB Hall of Frame (Airforce). I also used ACR Lava Lamp (Large - Ruby) and CB Slide Show: Frames which are now both discontinued.

There you have it... another fun page filled with my fave Buzz and Bloom products.  Try it!!! Get some of your old Buzz and Bloom embellies and use it together with you new ones.  You'll be amazed on its outcome!

Color Combo - Graduate - by Lynnette Davis

In my attempt to mix the color combo red, teal and green together (with neutrals) I have to say, I had quite a difficult time.  However, I pulled through and made it work.  Here's my oldest son when he graduated Kindergarten a couple years ago.

Color Combo - Cheese!! - by Kellie Lusted

Here is my take on the colour challenge.

I have used CB Shelby Alphabet and CB That 70s Alphabet for the title.

For my embellishment cluster I have used a FAB In Bloom (Chocolate) Also I used a FAB Garden Corners (Azure) and  CB Frill Corners as a corner embellishment.

 

Hope you all like the colour combo and give it a go... I know I will again :)

Color Combo - Love & Kisses - by Arlene Camacho

Hello, Hello!!!

When I saw we were assigned a color combo challenge, I was really excited. I LOVE doing them. They push me to use colors in a way I wouldn't ordinarily do so. The results? Always awesome!

I saw the colors needed: green, aqua, & Red. I automatically thought of some old papers I had!!! Who doesn't love using up their stash? I think these Lollipop Shoppe papers went perfectly!

I chose a B&W photo here because I used the colors in BIG HUGE doses, and I also wanted the eye to be caught by it. Now for a title I remembered getting these awesome CB Love & Kisses-words. I painted them using red acrylic paint. when they dried... it looked a bit dull to me. So I slathered some glossy accents to them. (My new fave way to alter chipboard!!!) You see the cluster of hearts? I popped them out of the words... I was thinking of painting them and maybe pop dotting them. I nixxed that idea and just added some white glitter instead. In hind sight, to make them stand out more... I think next time I'll paint them before adding the glitter.

Color Combo - Kiss - by Janis Medina-Maghinay

I was totally thinking that I'm the last person to do layouts with banners.  After making my "We Work Hard, We Party Harder" layout for All About Me (where I also used Buzz and Bloom's CB That 70s Alphabet and CB Frill Corner), I was kinda hooked and had to do more!!! 

I used here CB Distracted Schoolgirl Alphabet for my title (had to squeeze in a tiny button heart from CB Buttons set!!!).  I was also able to use FAB Blame it On the Sunshine (Avocado) on my flower cut-out. 

Mr. Tweety Bird from CB Totally Tweet Collection really looks happy, doesn't he?  LOL.  Made him sit on my ACR Fairy Throne (another CB Button topping!!!).

 

Oh, all Buzz and Bloom chipboards used on my layout here are painted with acrylic paints and topped with glossy accents.  Love how this stuff makes my chipboards look glazed and pretty!!!

This layout was created for a color challenge:  Red, Teal/Aqua, Green, Neutrals.  I'm upping the challenge:  why not include a banner somewhere in your layout?  Do share your creations with us by uploading your layouts in our Flickr gallery!!!

Color Combo - Water Babies - by Skye Johnson

When I saw the colour scheme that was picked for us for this assignment, I was super excited! The colours were just perfect for that long list of summer holiday photos I have sitting around waiting to be scrapped.
 
For this layourt, I just wanted some solid block colours, so they were bright and popped from the page.
To contrast that, I wanted to keep my neutrals very basic.
So I stuck to painting for my brights and raw chippie (with very little inking) for my neutrals. 

I love the Pop Art Alpha, so I used one of my favourites, CB Pop Art Stripes Alphabet and inked that with just a little bit of Versacolour Pinecone.
This is my favourite ink for leaving chipboard raw as it just defines it enough to make it stand out.
 
I also inked one of the new CB Buttons for my top corner.
 
In contrast I painted my CB Frills Corners and CB Retro Leaves in teal and red to stand out against my green background paper, those colours are so beautiful and bright against each other, dont you think?!
 
The paints work so well with Buzz and Bloom chipboard. The chipboard doesn't absorb too much or go too soggy when you paint on it like some others do. I just use Kaisercraft paints and they work perfectly together!
So why not get your paints or inks or mists out and have a go at the same colour scheme? It's a sure fire winner!

Color Combo - Simply Me - by Jennifer Findlay

For this color combo challenge I decided to tone down the red and went with pink, blue, green and threw in some yellow for good measure.  The papers from Cosmo Cricket's "Material Girl" and American Crafts "Dear Lizzy" went together perfectly.

 
I decided to go with a black and white picture so that the colors would stand out even more.  For my title I used the CB Vette - lowercase alphabets.  These were painted with acrylic paint and topped with Glossy Accents.  My title is meant to be a statement that I am who I am and proud of it. 

For the CB Buttons I used some Maya Mist in brown and avocado.  Once dry, which is literally only a few seconds, I topped them with Glossy Accents and stitched them down to the page.  I love these buttons because they are so customizable and add a delicate detail to any page.  I have painted the buttons, added patterned paper, and now I have misted them.  Here are a couple of detailed pictures.

Color Combo - Seahorse Necklace - by Gina Rodgers

I was so excited when I found out the colours for this challenge... blues and
green are definitely all time faves of mine and look gorgeous with some
rich red thrown in!

This layout is about my youngest daughter's seahorse necklace and how she
had to wait a long time to get it (after Mum went and lost it for over a year!).

 
 

To start off with I've decorated the white cardstock by masking with blue and
green glimmer mists, using a groovy arrow from CB Pointers - Swirly Snails
(I have used this arrow for masking on a few different layouts now)

The next step was to position my photo and add a simple scrap paper border
and to sew on a strip using some a tissue paper ribbon layers...

 

...then for the title I've used CB Shelby Alphabet - Lower Case and simply inked
each letter alternatively in a teal and aqua inks.

...and these very cute love heart buttons are part of the new set: CB Buttons
and I have inked them in red and then coated with glossy accents.

 

I hope you enjoy scrapping these colours as much as I have... and don't forget to

Color Combo - While I'm Here - by Keandra Willis

I'm a strong believer in enjoying life.  It's such a fleeting thing that we can't put off until tomorrow what we could enjoy today.  That's why love that my guys give me flowers... now when I can smell them!  Keanohn has watched Ahmad bring flowers to me that he's picked on his way home and plants that Daddy has given to me... I guess he wanted to sharpen HIS chivalry skills, too!  Now, when he sees the white "flowers" growing on our lawn (when Daddy and Mahd haven't cut the grass!), he snatches up a few and hands them to me.  Because I've given birth to three boys, I HAVE experienced this before... I just don't think either of the others was this YOUNG!!!  SOO sweet... and of COURSE Mommy had to document it!

I'm SOO in love with the new BUZZ AND BLOOM flowers, so of course both the TULIP TWIRLS and FANCY PANSY are prominently displayed here.  And when I saw that the new CB BUTTONS features some shaped buttons, like flowers... well, I threw one of those on there, too!!  I used THAT 70s ALPHABET for my title and this time I left it raw.  We can't wait to see YOU share your creations featuring BUZZ AND BLOOM and this color palette!

Color Combo - Growth - by Sophie Sim-Lawrence

Salutations! I'm back this time with my interpretation of the colour challenge that all of us on the Design Team are trying. I totally love this colour combo and had great fun putting this page together, all the more so as it features bub, at 13 and 20 weeks old! Ok, more specifically, ultrasound pics of our soon to arrive in a few days time baby!

The Beloved and I are counting down now to Bubby arriving and at the same time are awed by how much growing bub does in the womb! Just when I thought I am as big as I can get, bubby surprises us and shows us how much more he/she can grow!

On this page, I used CB Cherry Blossoms and CB Vette Alphabet - Lower Case. One of the things I really like to do with my chipboars is to first coat them with a layer of white paint, before applying pigment inks on them. This was the case with the Cherry Blossoms, which I could colour to match the papers. As for the title, leaving it white allowed for it to stand out on the page. This allowed for a different viewpoint and enabled the chipboards to guide the eye across the page.
