Buzz and Bloom

It’s so amazing to see how seamlessly all the Buzz and Bloom products look like when they come together in one layout. For this layout I’m presenting to you, I used all the product range available and I’m super satisfied with the outcome.

Allow me to "deconstruct" the Buzz and Bloom goodies for you:  

Chipboard - CB That 70s Alphabet

Acrylic -  ACR Frills black

Fabric -  COR On Cloud Nine - Avocado and COR On Cloud Nine - Azure

Fabric - DEN Blame It On The Sunshine - Blush

So you see, feasting on the varied B&B products is indeed like a buffet! So go, dig in, Indulge yourselves!

Most crafters approach the use of the Buzz and Bloom acrylics with much trepidation. Fear not! Let me tell you something about using these pretty, shiny things.

 

Look just how easy these acrylics made my layout almost "done". Honestly speaking, I could've stopped after I adhered the acrylic you see here, which unfortunately was already discontinued (who knows, you might still have it in your stash - go find 'em!). But don't you fret, you can always use the ACR Beaded Curtain series... the artsy impact will still be the same *wink* 

 

 

Also for this layout, I used two types of chipboard alphabets: the CB Diva Alphabet and CB Vette Alphabet - Lower Case and CB Vette Alphabet - Upper Case. The latter added a little whimsy because of its different sizes:

 

I must say that the CB Vette alphabets definitely took a beating from me! I primed it with a nude-colored crackle paint before painting it pink. I distressed it using a red inkpad before finally sprinkling three colors of fine glitter. I tell you, the chipboard is still as sturdy as an acacia tree and never feathered. Here's a closer look:

 

 

 

You must agree with me though, it looks amazing this way, ey?

There is something about the Buzz and Bloom acrylic products that instantly dignify any crafty page. With its glossy appearance and an almost opaque sheen, you can’t go wrong!

Take for example this layout I created for my loving mum. Since she was photographed picking Philippine sweet mangoes (the best in the world!), I used the ACR Up The Garden Path – Bottle Green so that it kinda echoes the background where my mum was. And if you thought you can’t embellish it, think again! I wrapped a coordinating ribbon at the bottom to anchor the pretty acrylic embellishment. Here’s a closer look:

 

By also using a rather long title, the versatile CB Urban Alphabet was just the right fit! I initially painted it and distressed it a bit before putting glossy accents. See how cute these alphabets are?

Love me some denim and cord!

 

No wonder Buzz and Bloom received the First Place Award for Innovations Showcase at the 2009 Summer CHA! Who would've thought these materials can be this cute and fancy?

I went crazy and used both designs on the DEN: Patchwork Flora, DEN: Reflections (Blush), and COR: Reflections (Avocado). I thought of using a piece of the DEN: Round Corner Flourish (Blush), a couple of those cute cord namely, COR: Wham Bang Ouch (Magenta). Oh, I'm not done yet. For my title, I couldn't resist using CB: Pop Art Alphabet - Dots! Here are some close-up shots:
