Buzz and Bloom

How groovy and gorgeous are the new chipboard female forms?? They certainly pack a punch of instant femininity to any project!!  I have used the beautiful CB Linda in my layout below, and have added embellishments to her to really give her a sophisticated and elegant look.  CB Linda is the perfect embellishment for this layout alongside some photos of friend's daughter on the day of her formal.

 

One of my favourite techniques, using Buzz and Bloom chipboard, is to cover the chipboard shape with various materials.  On CB Linda you will see I have added several different materials to create the look of clothing.  Firstly, I added some beautiful corded ribbon to the bodice section of the CB Linda shape securing it into position with double sided tape. 

Next, I added my most favourite technique .... "micro-beads".  The micro beads were adhered to the chipboard shape using dimensional magic.  The dimensional magic (glossy accents) was directly applied to the chipboard and the micro beads spread over the top.  When all micro beads were placed into position, I added another coat of dimensional magic over the top, which, when dry leaves a gorgeous glossy finish.

Finally, I added the finishing touches ... using some bling, I created a necklace and a fashionable belt too.  Oh, and not forgetting some flowers in her hair to complete the look!  Doesn't CB Linda now look fit to take on the town in her elegant evening dress?

I have also used a chipboard shape from the CB Fancy Pansy set and created the title using  CB Vette Alphabet Lower Case.   These chipboard pieces have been coloured using an adirondak paint dabber and finished off with some dimensional magic for that irresistable glossy finish.

Wow, what an amazing impact CB Linda has made to this layout ...  go out and grab yourself some of these gorgeous new chipboard shapes now, the creative possibilities are endless .... have fun creating!!

"Picturesque" by Nina Granzien

For this project, I have used a photograph that I had taken some time ago when one of the local creeks were in flood.  I have always felt this photograph was visually engaging, there is just something about the picturesque and serene beauty of the location that grabs my attention everytime I look at it ... so when my latest pack of B&B goodies arrived in the mail containing the gorgeous new B&B chipboard Wildflowers border, I knew immediately that together, this photo and Wildflowers border would compliment each other perfectly on a layout ... thus the creation "picturesque".

 

I played around with the chipboard Wildflower border and added two different applications to it, to get the result that I did.  Firstly I sprayed it with some Auburn coloured glimmermist.  When it was dry, I then stamped over it with an embossing stamp pad, then applied some copper embossing powder and heat set it.  Next, I grabbed some sand paper and in random areas over the border, I burnished off some of the copper embossing to reveal the glimmermisted area that was underneath .... don't you just love the amazing effect it created? ... such rich colours and the texture is awesome (wish you could touch it!!).

 

I have also used the chipboard That 70s Alphabet for my title.  I applied some acrylic paint and also some dimensional magic to each letter.

Howdy Doody Peoples ... thanks for stopping by the Buzz and Bloom Blog.

Have you copped an eye-full of the new awesome B&B products??? I was gobsmacked when I first saw the new designs, and even more excited when my DT package arrived with some of the new goodies in it!!

Hands down, my most fav B&B product is now the chipboard Ornamental. 

I JUST LOVE IT!!! and I couldn't wait to play with it and incorporate it into my next project!!

 

Now because I was totally blown away by this new chipboard shape, I wanted to make sure that it featured predominately on my layout.  Firstly, I used it as a mask, both down along the left hand side of the page and partially across the bottom of the page.  I used some glimmermist to spray over the mask and then traced around the ornamental shape with a fine tipped acid free pen to really define the shape. (Doesn't it look amazing!!)

Next, I grabbed my Adirondak Denim Paint Dabber, and painted the ornamental chipboard shape.  After the paint dried, I cut the ornamental shape into 2 parts. (Another way to get more out of your lagrer chipboard shapes.)  You can see I have also used some of the new chipboard Buttons which I have also painted with some Adirondak Paint Dabbers.  As is my usual approach when using Buzz and Bloom Chipboard shapes, I added a coat of dimensional magic ... (personally,I love the glossy finish this gives to these shapes!!).  To finish off the buttons, I added some twine by threading it through the holes of the buttons and tying into a knot.  The final piece of Buzz and Bloom yumminess that I added to this layout is the chipboard Vette Alphabet - Upper Case letter  "N" which I am using as a monogram title.  I have applied the same technique to this letter as I have done to the Ornamental shape.

"Feeding the Seagulls" - by Nina Granzien

Hi ya to all you wonderful B&B lovers .... it's Nina here again ready to share with you my 3rd B&B project for 2010.

For this project, I have focused on using an amazing piece of B&B chipboard as a background focal point .... the Head Start Back To Square One Large.  I have left the Head Start Back To Square One Large in it's raw state and placed it over a piece of patterned paper.  I have also used some of the B&B Denim Patch Work Flora which I have cut to size to fit inside some of the square shapes that make up the Head Start Back To Square One Large .  I used some dimensional magic to secure the Head Start Back To Square One Large into position on the patterned paper, and then added some machine stitching to give more texture and interest to the background.

 

Next, I painted some of the B&B Chipboard Alphas Vette Alphabet-Upper Case and Vette Alphabet- Lower Case (which happen to be my favorite B&B Alpha) in acrylic paint. When dry, I added a border to each alpha piece using an acid free journalling pen and secured them to my project using dimensional magic.  I have also added a coat of dimensional magic to the top of each alpha for a glazed finish.

To complete the layout, I scrunched up some small pieces of blue tissue paper and added it to various squares within the Head Start Back To Square One Large  to add more texture and dimension to the project. And finally, I added a B&B Acrylic Love Nest (Blueberry) as a larger embellishment.

 

   

I hope you all find yourselves now inspired to create a project using a chipboard piece from the amazing B&B Head Start range of products.  As you can see, they are fun to use and a wonderful addition to any project.  Have fun creating ....

"Surf's Up" - by Nina Granzien

Hiya ... it's Nina again, popping in to share some more B&B gorgeousness!!!

For this project I have had fun doodling using an awesome piece B&B chipboard as a template.

 

I have used the CB Head Start Back To Square One as a template to create an amazing background for this layout.  I placed the CB Head Start Back To Square One  upside down on my base cardstock, and then applied some glimmermist.  I then set the cardstock aside to dry.  Once dry, I repositioned the CB Head Start Back To Square One back into the same position it was prior to spraying with glimmermist.  I then grabbed and black acid free pen, and proceeded to trace around the entire Chipboard template.  To add some extra doodling, I then added checks to particular squares with in the design.

Next I utilised a CB Borderline Frill.  To begin, I removed all the inner semi circles from the design, and then ran it through a Xyron 150 upside down to coat the entire border piece with adhesive.  I then sprinkled clear and pink glitter over the top and rubbed it into the adhesive to ensure the entire chipboard piece was covered in full.  Next I painted with acrylic paint, 3 of the previously removed inner semi circles.  When they were dry, I re-inserted them into their correct positions.  To finish off the piece and to ensure that the glitter would remain on the chipboard, I added a coat of dimensional magic.

Finally, I added the CB Vette Alphabet - Lower Case  and a piece from the CB Seedlings  collection, which I painted in gold acrylic paint and then added a coat of dimensional magic to.

"SunKissed Baby" - by Nina Granzien

Hellloo to all you lovers of B&B ... it's Nina here, and I am really really excited to be part of the amazing Buzz & Bloom Team for another year.

For our first lot of projects for 2010, we were given a "free for all" ... no constraints, no challenges and no set criteria ... I have to say I create best under these conditions ... so imagine my excitment after being told we can create whatever, and do it however we like!! ****EXCITEMENT****

Anyways, we have just returned from our annual family vacation ... 2 weeks on the gorgeous sunshine coast in Queensland, Australia.  I came home armed with more than 350 new photos to scrapbook and decided to commence my B&B scrap year using some of these fantastic snapshots.

In this particular layout I have utilised the following B&B products:

• Chipboard Urban Alphabet  which I painted with gold acrylic paint and then coated with dimensional magic.
• Acrylic Totally Too Tweet (Lge) White 
• Chipboard Frames - (circle border) which I firstly covered in turquoise glimmermist and then added stitching too, using my sewing machine.
