Buzz and Bloom

Hello again!!! :D

My older terrors often get jealous of the fact that I scrap the younger ones much more often than I do  them. The problem is that now the older ones grew out of the phase in which they loved being photographed. I get photos of them grimacing or making funny faces, while the littler ones still ham it up for me. I also spend a lot more time with them because the older ones are in school longer.

SO I have this series of photos of my oldest female terror cheerfully smiling with her dad on her birthday. I really love seeing how they get along. They really "get" each other.  Hence the title.

I wanted to keep the layout sweet and to the point. I used almost the whole sheet of CB Cherry Blossoms. I spritzed them and added some pearls to a couple. I also used some of the remnants (hearts)  of CB Love & Kisses- words. Remember I used some in a previous layout? The beauty of these products is that you have enough left over to make many different looking projects. Biggest bang for your buck, I always say! (and look for!) I used Shelby Alphabet- Lower case for the title. Quick, easy layout with lots of pops here and there!

Dream - by Arlene Camacho

The DT was challenged to scrap something about themselves. Having 4 teenyterrors, they're mainly the focus of my layouts... so it was a challenge for me to do. There's so many ways one can go with this.

while thinking and thinking... I kind of fell upon scrapping what it is I mainly do... and that's dream. I am a busy bee... as you can imagine with 4 teenyterrors, but I find myself often dreaming and thinking about scrapping... so of course, I chose to scrap about it!!!

Dream

I really dug into my stash to use these papers... They're so bright and colorful. They're also the first papers I bought when I first started {hoarding} buying scrappy supplies.

With this layout I wanted to be a bit whimsical and what better to use to get that effect than the acrylic??? I used ACR Fairy Throne in Fuschia and ACR Room with a view in Blueberry. Peeking behind them are Fab In bloom in Azure. They are a fabulous corduroy material.

For the title I painted CB Vette Upper Case Alphas in green with a paint dauber, and then staggered them on top of each other for a bit of a pop and interest. For the long vine (The Butterfly Effect) I popped out the inserts, & painted them white. The vines got the same green paint dauber treatment, and then some glossy accents to make them shiny like the acrylic.

Scrapping process - Bridal Chic - by Arlene Camacho

Hello everyone! :D

I really love challenges. They always make me look to do twists and something different! I was so excited when we were assigned some!

I have different approaches to scrapping. I can take color cues from a photo... be totally inspired by a color scheme and so forth. With this layout it was a comment that inspired the layout!

This is my little sister. When this photo was posted on facebook, a cousin of ours said it belonged in a bridal magazine. Hence the title.

I also thought that CB Linda would be perfect in a LO like this. I had a bit of pretty lace ribbon left to use as the bodice, and used some lace cardstock for the skirt after painting her.  Doesn't she look like a bridesmaid as well?

To mimic the pretty bouquet my sister is carrying, I cut some tissue paper and made a flower with it. I misted it to give it that two toned effect.

For the title I inked and coated CB Vette Alphabet - Lowercase and CB Shelby Alphabet (lower and upper case) in glossy accents for that sleek look. I wanted to keep the colors fresh, like something you would see in an ad. I hope you find inspiration in the every day things! You never know what you can create from them.

Color Combo - Love & Kisses - by Arlene Camacho

Hello, Hello!!!

When I saw we were assigned a color combo challenge, I was really excited. I LOVE doing them. They push me to use colors in a way I wouldn't ordinarily do so. The results? Always awesome!

I saw the colors needed: green, aqua, & Red. I automatically thought of some old papers I had!!! Who doesn't love using up their stash? I think these Lollipop Shoppe papers went perfectly!

I chose a B&W photo here because I used the colors in BIG HUGE doses, and I also wanted the eye to be caught by it. Now for a title I remembered getting these awesome CB Love & Kisses-words. I painted them using red acrylic paint. when they dried... it looked a bit dull to me. So I slathered some glossy accents to them. (My new fave way to alter chipboard!!!) You see the cluster of hearts? I popped them out of the words... I was thinking of painting them and maybe pop dotting them. I nixxed that idea and just added some white glitter instead. In hind sight, to make them stand out more... I think next time I'll paint them before adding the glitter.

Girly Fun - by Arlene Camacho

Hi!!!

How have you been enjoying the gorgeous techniques being shown? I have been blown away.

Now I'm here to show you something simple, you don't need special tools or supplies, and it's something that'll be sure to stand out on any project. Anyone can do this!  Ready to see my layout?

Now my daughter saw the chipboard after I altered them and was amazed! She thought I had actually bought them like this. 

I used things you can buy anywhere. I personally do not have many crafty stores or local scrappy shops... so I do what I can with what I have. I used Aleene's Tacky glue, glitter, and mod podge.

First I make sure to cover  CB Pointers: Wiggly Worms with a good amount of glue.

 I like to wait a few minutes to wait for the glue to get tacky before I apply glitter to it.

Now I made the mistake of using a styrofoam plate while coating the chipboard piece with glitter.   I did it to make clean up easier, but instead it caused a lot of static electricity... making the glitter "jump off" the plate. I have a glass cutting mat on my work table, I should've just stuck with that.

I applied a coat of mod podge to seal the deal. I found that without this step, the glitter would fly off as the project was handled.

I used Fab Writers Block: The George in Blush for a flower. I cut it into a spiral and rolled it up using the Aleene's Tacky Glue.  The Retro Leaves got some glitter treatment as well.

Up on the right hand corner I used some of the new CB Buttons.

Guess who's back again?

I really enjoy trying to incorporate a little Buzz and Bloom into challenges I complete. The product is just so inspiring to me. I can't wait to use them! This time I created a layout using a sketch from the Scrappiest.

 I caught a photograph of my DH and my teenyterrors as they raced to the playground... I love seeing them together and wanted to catch a moment like this. What better product to use to frame out that photo than the Fab Garden Notes in airforce. I can't express to you how much I love the feel of the fabric. This corduroy feels so scrumptious! The design also mimics the flower pattern in the paper as well.

That gorgeous flowery border is the new CB Wildflowers. I painted it using acrylic paint, outlined it in brown ink once it was dry, and then sealed it off with some glossy accents. The CB Vette in Lower and Uppercase got the same treatment as the border.

Wonderfully Made- by Arlene Camacho

Hello All!!!

I am back to share a layout made with new goodies from Buzz and Bloom! I have enjoyed seeing what my fellow DT members have been doing with the new product!!!

I decided to use what I got on a layout created for a blog hop at a challenge blog. Yes, this layout is multi tasking! want to take a peek?

 
See how pretty these new CB Cherry Blossoms look??? I decided to leave them natural but wanted to add a bit of dimension to them. I did that by stamping on them in walnut colored ink, after inking the edges.  Once the ink dried up, I coated them in glossy accents. Here's a close up:

I also had to include these adorable Fab On Cloud Nine  in avocado. The corduroy fabric feels so soft to the touch, I love them. I outlined them in white ink. I stapled them onto my layout.

  For the title, I used CB Urban Alphabet, outlined in green and white pen, then treated to a coat of glossy accents.

Hello!

What do you know about the year of your birth? I was so surprised at what I found when I googled it for a challenge from AAM challenge blog... and well, I couldn't help using B&B!!! :)

  Have I told you how much I LOVE Buzz and Bloom Chipboard???!!! Really, I can't say it enough...it's so easy to incorporate into a layout! Here I used CB Alpha Shelby countdown and CB Retro Leaves. I applied some crackle paint, let it dry a bit and then sponged on a bit of gold metallic alcohol ink on top. Just to give it that distressed feel to it.

 I wasn't too sure of how it was going to come out but I Like it! Don't be afraid to experiment with different things. You may be delighted with the results!

Adoring Moments - by Arlene Camacho

Hey there!  It's me again, here to show another project completed using fabulous projects from Buzz and Bloom!

I ran into a couple of older photos of my teenyterrors and this one I couldn't resist scrapping!

 I kept it pretty simple because I did not want everything to compete with each other.  Here I used CB Alpha- Shelby in both lowercase and Uppercase . I painted them with some pink smooch paint, I love the metallic color effect it gives the chipboard. Also used here were the very cute and fabulous CB Mini Tokens- Butterfly Kisses and in Cupcake, which both got the same smooch treatment. The details on these products are so amazing and can be easily enhanced within seconds!

Also to give credit where it is due, I used a sketch from The Scrappiest . I couldn't help incorporporating B&B into my other Dt work.

Your Super Powers - by Arlene Camacho

Hi All!!!

This is my very first post as a design team member for Buzz & Bloom, and I have to say I am very nervous!!! Div asked us for our first assignments to create anything to showcase our styles and I got so nervous... I drew a blank!!!!

I started going through older photos of my teeny terrors and stumbled upon one of my son & hubby on his 1st day of school. I knew I had to use it for a layout showcasing the very fabulous CB Analog Alphabet

I gave the alphas a little sanding, some paint, some more sanding to distress the paint a bit...and then for more added "OOMPH" outlined the edge with a bit of smooches.

I also went along and added a CB Writer's Block: Super Heroes-Smash to go along with the theme. I love the detailing on this, and gave it the same treatment as the alphas.

For more fabulous-ness I also used FAB- Wham Bang Ouch in Air force. It's corduroy and awesome to the touch.

Last but not least I used MIR- Be Mine: Cupid
