Buzz and Bloom

Coffee Talk - by Mia Caniza

Hi again!  I'm back to share another layout I created using some of the fun Buzz and Bloom chipboard products!

I'm sharing a layout that documents the wonderful friends I have made through this wonderful hobby called scrapbooking.  It's constant fun whenever we get together, whether it's to sit down and crop or to have some coffee at the local Starbucks. 

I created a cluster of handmade flowers to the lower left of my photo and to add accents to the cluster, I used the CB Retro Leaves that I misted green and covered in Glossy Accents.

The title for this layout is from the CB Distracted Schoolgirl Alphabet set, which I painted yellow and covered it again with some Glossy Accents.  I just love the way Glossy Accents looks on top of chipboard!

Smile Girls - by Mia Caniza

Hi everyone!  It's Mia again and for this post I want to share a layout I did capturing a light and fun moment during my birthday celebration last year.  My friends were so eager to take my photo after I blew out the candles on my cake.  However me, being me, I'm not a fan of having my photo taken as I'd much rather be the one behind the camera taking the pictures.  So, as they were about to snap my photo, I turned the tables on them and caught them trying to take my photo!  Hee!

For this page, I used the Lava Lamp - Small/Gloss Black acrylic shape but you could substitute it as well with the ACR Beaded Curtain pieces.  I felt that the black was too harsh for the colors on my page so I wanted to alter it in some way to fit the look I was going for.  I sanded the surface of the acrylic piece first so that the glue would stick.  I then used some Glossy Accents & brown glitter over the embellishment.

As for my title, I used some alphabet stickers on the page and then layered the CB That 70s Alphabet over it to make it seem like a double title.  I painted the alphabet yellow and added some Glossy Accents over it for a more professional looking finish.  I added a rub-on to the side to give the title further interest.

You Have My Heart Canvas - by Mia Caniza

Hi everyone!  Mia here from the Philippines and I'm so happy to be on the Buzz and Bloom 2010 DT.  I'm having a blast working with their products.

For my first post here on the blog, I wanted to share with you an artsy canvas project that I did using some of Buzz and Bloom's chipboard products.  Since we just celebrated Valentine's Day, I wanted to document a special relationship I have with a little girl named Sam.  Her mom is one of my dear friends and ever since we met this little girl has managed to make her way into my heart.

I wanted this project to be artsy but to still keep it simple so as to focus on the photo and the message I wanted to convey.  For the canvas itself, I used gesso and a lot of misting for the base.  I used the heart from the CB Mini Tokens Butterfly Kisses set next to the photo.  Normally I would have painted this but because of the background it's on I decided to keep it raw so it would stand out more.

As for my title, I used the CB Shelby Alphabet - Uppercase (love, love, love this font!).  I brought out my embossing supplies for this, which is a rarity since I almost never use them anymore.  I inked the letters of my title in black pigment ink before adding red glitter embossing powder to make the red pop out more.

There you have it.  An artsy yet simple canvas project for a little girl who has stolen my heart.  Hope you all enjoyed this project.  Thanks for stopping by!
